TNT & his dad bought a new planter this winter. To save $4000 in labor charges from John Deere he decided he could install the fertilizer system on it. We did this a few years ago on the new drills. I knew it was a lot of work, but it’s what we have to do to save $$.
We are a John Deere family. Except we run a RoGator for the sprayer instead of John Deer. Anyway if people ask which is better John Deer or Case ih. Just tell them lots of songs are about John Deere and not red Cases’. lol Joe Diffy sings about them, Jason Aldean, Sawyer Brown, Craig Morgan & Kenny Chesney! See Green is better! LOL Actually I don’t really care a tractor is a tractor no matter the color, but you know!
Before
Attached these gauges to the planter. This shows the pressure going through the fertilizer system.
We attached all the hoses to the above device (16 hoses) then ran more hoses up to the main motor that runs this system. Then hydraulic hoses to the tractor and back to the motor that runs the fertilizer system. Lots of work and crawling around.
TNT then had to put the tank up on the planter. Here’s where it gets tricky. Our forklift can only reach so far, but you have to be very careful it doesn’t fall and kill someone. So it’s help it along but get ready to run if it falls. Super safe here people!
Here its coming in.
All bolted in and just a few things left to do.
Here it is finished. I didn’t help TNT put the nozzles on the part that goes into the ground. I figured he can sit on a rolling stool and do that while I cooked supper and do laundry.

Now that’s a farmwife!
