We’ve had a pretty mild fall/winter so far. That changed yesterday!! Local schools were calling classes off on Tuesday already. The storm hit around 2 and boy did it hit. I left work at 3:45 with the constant nagging my my sister to get the HELL home, right now!! Since she lives 35 miles west of me she gets the storms before I do so she was doing her best meteorologist and stay off the roads.
This was in town at 3:45.

It took me about 1/2 hour to go home driving 35 mph. I took this picture in my driveway of the highway visibility.

Then the excitement started. The UPS man who was trying to finish his route spend about 3 hours at our house. We thought he was going to have to spend the night, but around 9 the wind started to go down. Then some college boys who go to school in Kansas City thought it would be a good idea to take back roads to Colorado since I-70 was closed. Well the got 12 miles south of town and went right in to the ditch across the road from us. TNT pulled them out and told the driver not to push on the gas, just let TNT do the pulling. TNT was pulling him along then BAM the guy didn’t listen and ran right into the back of TNT’s pickup. Luckily we have a big bumper on the pickup so we had no damage, but the taillight on that car broke out. Then the tow chain broke too. There’s a reason the state was closing roads. Oh I should mention the college kid had shorts on! SHORTS!!!
This was my drive to town this morning. I have an all wheel drive small SUV and I couldn’t get faster than 38 or the back end would start to sway.

Got to work and found out one of my co-workers was in a bad wreck last night around 4:30 and then my boss’ son had a diabetic episode and is now in ICU. Scary!!
Okay Sister!!!! I TOLD YOU TO GET YOUR BUTT HOME AND YOU WAITED!!!!
